Waking from my Writer's Block with my SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 2 and BLOGAWAY

I know ... it has been ages... aaaaages since my last blog entry. Adding posts to my blog seemed to be more difficult and time-consuming since I started at a new job last July 2011. I love my job, don't get me wrong... but whenever I get home from work, I just seem to want to lie in bed after a nice meal and tinker with my phone... ha, lazy me indeed!

Well, since my dear husband got me a new Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for Christmas last year, I'm finding it a joy to surf the net on it... do all sorts of things... and I've got to say, I'm loving the enormous screen!

This will be my first time trying to blog with Blogaway so let's see... I just have to access my Blog on the full blogger site if my O.C.D. with formatting and posting multiple photos get to me.

Oh... and by the way... from now on, pardon the low-res photos... if any... not sure yet how it will appear on a normal screen as I will always be posting blog entries from my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and photos would naturally be taken with it.

Lastly, just as a heads-up... all my photos on my blog would now be the same ones I'll be posting on Instagram... thought of letting you guys know since I used to post food photos taken from my husband's Canon EOS 7D DSLR. Big difference in quality, yes, but at least I get to blog  ツ

Fingers crossed! Excited to be sharing our epicurean escapades, travels, and fantastic finds to all my readers again!  ^(oo)^

Ice Skrambol - Ice Scramble - Ice Crambles

Skrambol - Ice Skrambol - Ice Scramble - Ice Crambles - Ice Crumbles ... whatever you call this popular milky-icy-strawberry cooler, the Skrambol will always have a special place in my heart.

The Skrambol has been around for ages... well, at least as far as I can remember. Today, you could still get hold of old school Skrambol outside schools, churches, or from your resident ambulant food vendor for 5.00-15.00 pesos per cup (depending on the size). In the good ol' days, Skrambol vendors even use Brown Cow to top it with. Yum yum! The milky-icy strawberry flavored slush is definitely one of my comfort foods... extra powdered milk topping please!

Our family LOOOOOVES Yakult! After hearing of FRO-YA (Frozen Yakult) from one of my foodie acquaintances, we headed to Sebastian's Ice Cream station at Trinoma to try it out for ourselves. For me, the words "Frozen" and "Yakult" together makes the perfect combination, especially since I always freeze my tiny bottles of Yakult, to a slush-like consistency, before drinking it. :-)

So what have I to say about FRO-YA? Well, it was... just OK. Yeah, it was good, as frozen yogurt, but not really as Frozen Yakult spot on. It actually tasted like the usual plain and tart frozen yogurt you get from your fave frozen yogurt shops.

Mexican Food has got to be my Food for the Year (2011). I just seem to be craving for Mexican food more often than usual. Of course, this plus my regular cravings for crispy pata and pancit. :-)

After our first round of shopping on a Sunday, we had to decide on where to go for lunch. We seriously went around all the floors of the block, undecided, since nothing really seemed to appeal to me. One thing I don't like when shopping at a place I'm not that familiar with... I just can't decide in a snap as to where I'd want to eat for lunch or dinner. Hahaha!

Good thing Wowie remembered that there was a Mexicali branch on  the 4th floor. Score! An easy YES for both of us :-) Again... Pardon the grainy low-res photos... forgot to bring my camera.

Crave Burger - Not Really "Crave-Worthy"

Location: G/F Shopwise SuperCenter
150 E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue
Libis, Bagumbayan
Quezon City, Philippines
Telephone: (63) - 917 - 5626612
-------------------------------------------

After doing our grocery shopping at Shopwise Libis one stormy weekend, we decided to just have lunch at Crave Burger. I was looking forward to having a nice and heavy burger lunch since I wasn't able to have breakfast that day. Again, like what I always do when eating at a place we've never tried before, I ordered the basic... Crave Burger's CC1 Crave Combo meal which had a Crave Burger, a side order of Skinny Fries, and a 12oz drink.

CC1 Crave Combo (Php 190.00)

So how did I like it? Well, I sure wasn't happy with my lunch that day. The Crave Burger was quite disappointing. The bun was dry and crumbly. The burger patty was small, despite their tag line that they had "bigger" burgers... ummmm.. Not really! It also lacked flavor... bland, to say the least.
