<div dir="ltr">

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
I know ... it has been ages... aaaaages since my last blog entry. Adding posts to my blog seemed to be more difficult and time-consuming since I started at a new job last July 2011. I love my job, don't get me wrong... but whenever I get home from work, I just seem to want to lie in bed after a nice meal and tinker with my phone... ha, lazy me indeed!
<br />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Well, since my dear husband got me a new <b>Samsung Galaxy Note 2 </b>for Christmas last year, I'm finding it a joy to surf the net on it... do all sorts of things... and I've got to say, I'm loving the enormous screen!</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
This will be my first time trying to blog with <b>Blogaway</b> so let's see... I just have to access my Blog on the full blogger site if my O.C.D. with formatting and posting multiple photos get to me.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Oh... and by the way... from now on, pardon the low-res photos... if any... not sure yet how it will appear on a normal screen as I will always be posting blog entries from my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and photos would naturally be taken with it. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Lastly, just as a heads-up... all my photos on my blog would now be the same ones I'll be posting on Instagram... thought of letting you guys know since I used to post food photos taken from my husband's Canon EOS 7D DSLR. Big difference in quality, yes, but at least I get to blog ツ </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Fingers crossed! Excited to be sharing our epicurean escapades, travels, and fantastic finds to all my readers again! ^(oo)^

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">The Skrambol has been around for ages... well, at least as far as I can remember. Today, you could still get hold of old school Skrambol outside schools, churches, or from your resident ambulant food vendor for 5.00-15.00 pesos per cup (depending on the size). In the good ol' days, Skrambol vendors even use Brown Cow to top it with. Yum yum! The milky-icy strawberry flavored slush is definitely one of my comfort foods... extra powdered milk topping please!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"></div><a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">Right now, from the rise of affordable food cart franchises for as low as 5000.00 pesos, there has been an onslaught of Ice Scramble food kiosks sprouting throughout Metro Manila... in malls, supermarkets, and any place with a lot of "people traffic". The person who thought of commercializing the very simple Skrambol is a real genius... I should've thought of that myself! Tsk, too bad for me... hahaha :-)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">So where do you usually get your Skrambol-fix nowadays? </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />

After hearing of FRO-YA (Frozen Yakult) from one of my foodie acquaintances, we headed to Sebastian's Ice Cream station at Trinoma to try it out for ourselves. <div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="text_exposed_show"><b>I'd have to say I was disappointed.</b> </span><span class="text_exposed_show">I was expecting the FRO-YA to really be just pure Frozen Yakult, period, resulting in a sherbet-like treat. <br />
<b>What I Didn't Like:</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>> </b>The creamy-milky consistency and flavor it had... so I'm <u><b>guessing</b></u> it's really not pure, unadulterated frozen Yakult. <br />
<br />
<b>Will I Go Back?: </b></div><div style="text-align: justify;">><b> </b>For the FRO-YA.. NO... but I saw that Sebastian's Ice Cream had a lot of other interesting flavors that I might try the next time we're at Trinoma... hope they're better than the Fro-ya... if I don't find something that suits my taste after 2 more tries... well... then I won't be buying Ice cream from them again.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<b>Do I Recommend This Place?:</b></div>><b> Can't say just yet...</b> but yeah, sure... perhaps just to try a new ice cream place, or to taste their other yummy-sounding flavors for yourself...<br />

<i>Mexican Food has got to be my Food for the Year (2011). I just seem to be craving for Mexican food more often than usual. Of course, this plus my regular cravings for crispy pata and pancit. :-)</i><br />
<i><br />
</i><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">After our first round of shopping on a Sunday, we had to decide on where to go for lunch. We seriously went around all the floors of the block, undecided, since nothing really seemed to appeal to me. One thing I don't like when shopping at a place I'm not that familiar with... I just can't decide in a snap as to where I'd want to eat for lunch or dinner. Hahaha!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Good thing Wowie remembered that there was a Mexicali branch on the 4th floor. Score! An easy YES for both of us :-) Again... Pardon the grainy low-res photos... forgot to bring my camera.<br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s8QtYtcUi9w/TiqJRp9yX7I/AAAAAAAAAfA/QMdnzO93dGo/s1600/mexicali2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s8QtYtcUi9w/TiqJRp9yX7I/AAAAAAAAAfA/QMdnzO93dGo/s400/mexicali2.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Grilled Chicken Plate (Php 199.00)</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">We ordered two <b>Grilled Chicken Plates, Solo Nachos and a Ground Beef Burrito to share</b>. "Woot, woot" for having <b>Bottomless Soda too at Php 59.00</b>! Bottomless is really the way to go for me if it's available as I tend to order more than one drink/glass.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">What I love about Mexicali is the fact that their menu items are quite <b>yummy and reasonably priced</b> as compared to the newer Mexican Food joints sprouting in the metro. <b>Serving size is just right. </b>Wowie and I really enjoyed the Grilled Chicken Plates we ordered. The <b>chicken was grilled to perfection and had a clean grilled taste to it</b>. The rice that came with the plate was tasty too! Yum!<br />
<br />
I was also pleased that their Solo Nachos was enough for us to share as an appetizer. I was actually leaning on ordering the large sized nachos, good thing I was able to control myself.</div></div><div id="primaryPhone"><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uJtHUeI8Vj8/TiqJPP7bQiI/AAAAAAAAAe8/XfzOqhjFcdA/s1600/mexicali1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uJtHUeI8Vj8/TiqJPP7bQiI/AAAAAAAAAe8/XfzOqhjFcdA/s400/mexicali1.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Solo Nachos (Php 119.00)</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Plus points for their Nachos which had generous toppings of olives, jalapeno peppers, salsa, sour cream and beans</b>! I loved that there was more than enough toppings to ensure that each nacho chip had everything on it. In short, <b>the nacho chip to toppings ratio was just perfect.</b>.. unlike Nachos served at other places where you have to somehow "budget" and "allocate" the toppings... but still ending up with a lot of nacho chips and no toppings.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Mexicali's Ground Beef Burrito, well, was just ok. Their burrito was already filled with rice, salsa, and beans, so the ground beef didn't really stand out. I actually made a mistake when placing an order as I was supposed to get the Steak Burrito. Dunno why I said Ground Beef. Next time. The good thing about their burrito is that it is a really filling meal on its own since it is also generously filled and packed. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-g_hjtitBVEc/TiqJTEnAb6I/AAAAAAAAAfE/uZfdxT6Cy4Y/s1600/mexicali3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-g_hjtitBVEc/TiqJTEnAb6I/AAAAAAAAAfE/uZfdxT6Cy4Y/s400/mexicali3.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Ground Beef Burrito (Php 145.00)</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Overall, here's...<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="region" style="text-align: justify;"><b><u>MY VERDICT</u></b><b> </b><br />
<br />
<b>What I Like:</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;">> The food of course... Their Grilled Chicken Plate and Nachos. Flavorful menu items... yum!<br />
<br />
<b>What I Didn't Like:</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>> </b>Nothing in particular, except that I made a mistake in ordering a ground beef burrito since I wanted a steak burrito... hehehe :-) The ground beef burrito would have been better if the ground beef was chunkier :-)<br />
<br />
<b>Will I Go Back?: </b></div><div style="text-align: justify;">><b> </b>Definitely! I'm planning to try all their dishes this year, so there! :-)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<b>Do I Recommend This Place?:</b></div>><b> Yup! </b>Let me also add that the staff at Mexicali, SM North EDSA are very nice and accommodating... more plus points for them!<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">After doing our grocery shopping at Shopwise Libis one stormy weekend, we decided to just have lunch at Crave Burger. I was looking forward to having a nice and heavy burger lunch since I wasn't able to have breakfast that day. Again, like what I always do when eating at a place we've never tried before, I ordered the basic... Crave Burger's CC1 Crave Combo meal which had a Crave Burger, a side order of Skinny Fries, and a 12oz drink.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">So how did I like it? Well, I sure wasn't happy with my lunch that day. T<b>he Crave Burger was quite disappointing</b>. The bun was dry and crumbly. The burger patty was small, despite their tag line that they had "bigger" burgers... ummmm.. Not really! It also lacked flavor... bland, to say the least. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><a name='more'></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<b>The blue lemonade was not chilled</b>, not a good thing for me since I like my drinks icy and chilled. I would have to say that the only thing I liked about Crave Burger was their hot sauce. <b>I liked that their hot sauce had a slight barbeque flavor to it</b> and had, in fact, a perfect level of spiciness. Then again, I don't think I'd be heading to Crave Burger to get my burger fix just because of their hot sauce.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Wowie ordered the Crave Burger, with extra Maple Bacon. Wow... we opened the burger, and... lo and behold.... <b>ONE dry, skinny strip of bacon</b>. Check out the photo below.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jdbyJ4fK_jo/TiOt0ZTAWcI/AAAAAAAAAe0/NgmrGr4Vi6Y/s1600/crave1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jdbyJ4fK_jo/TiOt0ZTAWcI/AAAAAAAAAe0/NgmrGr4Vi6Y/s400/crave1.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Crave Burger (Php 135.00) plus Bacon (Php 40.00)</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Soooo not worth it...</div><div style="text-align: center;">and look at how small the burger patty is</div><div style="text-align: center;">compared to the bun... </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">He also ordered a Vanilla Milkshake (Php 85.00). The most disappointing item we ordered. I was observing how they whipped up their shake... and when I saw the server put a huge scoop of tube ice and a cup of water in the blender, I knew that their milkshake would be terrible. <b>DO NOT ORDER MILKSHAKES FROM CRAVE BURGER!</b> Their vanilla milkshake was made from powdered milk, water, and ice (instead of cream or vanilla ice cream, or both)... resulting in a chunky icy milk drink. Definitely NOT my definition of what a milkshake should be. If we wanted an icy milkshake-like drink, Zagu would have been a waaaay better option, seriously.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fFNgWsE3Heo/TiOt3ZIs9kI/AAAAAAAAAe4/lPi39iEQkSY/s1600/crave3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fFNgWsE3Heo/TiOt3ZIs9kI/AAAAAAAAAe4/lPi39iEQkSY/s400/crave3.JPG" width="300" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Man, we should've just eaten at McDonald's where they have (in my opinion), better tasting burgers and milkshakes.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Well, this is just my take on Crave Burger. To all Crave Burger fans... I respect your love for this burger joint. It's really just not for me. So not worthy to satisfy my burger cravings.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="region" style="text-align: justify;"><b><u>MY VERDICT</u></b><b> </b><br />
<br />
<b>What I Liked:</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;">> Their hot sauce. PERIOD.<br />
<br />
<b>What I Didn't Like:</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>> </b>Everything, except for the hot sauce.<br />
<br />
<b>Will I Go Back?: </b></div><div style="text-align: justify;">><b> </b>Definitely not...<br />
<br />
<b>Do I Recommend This Place?:</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;">><b> No... </b>Again, I still recommend <a href="http://foodiewifeymama.blogspot.com/2011/05/best-burgers-in-metro-wham-burgers.html"><b>Wham! Burgers</b></a> for huge, juicy, and scrumptious burgers!<br />

However, we all know that when we try to go on a diet we don't really get that much choices, especially in terms of dessert or yummy filling snacks. Most would just munch on crackers to keep their hunger at bay; but we all have to admit... crackers are quite boring, bland... and a normal serving (around 3 rectangular soda crackers at 120-170 calories) is definitely not filling. Here in the Philippines, diet meals and yummy quick fix diet food are really not that cheap and readily available unlike getting to choose from a wide array of gourmet diet food in America.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Since I've made it a habit to check the Nutrition Facts of most Food Products/Items, I've discovered that the Snack Pack pudding cup makes for a low-calorie yet yummy, filling, and chocolatey treat! At <u><b>just 120 calories and 30 calories from fat</b></u>, the Hunt's Snack Pack has got to be my favorite diet treat of all time :-)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kKrPt7V5gfk/Th5Nu4tUGCI/AAAAAAAAAeo/OCkSIRSbSy4/s1600/snackpack1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kKrPt7V5gfk/Th5Nu4tUGCI/AAAAAAAAAeo/OCkSIRSbSy4/s400/snackpack1.jpg" width="266" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;">So if you have a sweet tooth and are planning to go on a diet, or perhaps limit your dessert/calorie intake, I highly recommend the Snack Pack... Yummy, filling, and guilt-free! :-) I usually buy my stash good for 1-2 months from the Royal Duty Free Store at the Subic Freeport Zone. If you buy it there, it just costs Php 135.00-145.00 for a box of 12 Snack Packs in assorted chocolate flavors, that's only Php 11.25-12.00 per pack... quite cheap too! Score!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GDoWgC9TeRQ/Th5NwAheisI/AAAAAAAAAes/3cbjjJQ4gH4/s1600/snackpack2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="253" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GDoWgC9TeRQ/Th5NwAheisI/AAAAAAAAAes/3cbjjJQ4gH4/s400/snackpack2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Unfortunately, if you don't have time to head to a duty free store, be ready to shell out around Php 35.00 each if you decide to buy your Snack Packs at popular supermarkets in Manila. Still, not bad, if you think of it as a dessert-prize to top off your diet meal ;-)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Tip: </b>Freeze or semi-freeze your Snack Pack before eating for a refreshing and sweet chocolatey ice-cream-cake-like treat! Yum!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

-------------------------------------------------------<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Whenever we head to Baguio, I make it a MUST to always get my stash of scrumptious goodies and <i>"pasalubong "<b> </b></i>from Good Shepherd.<b> </b>I know that there are numerous souvenir shops and stores selling Baguio City goodies and treats, at waaaay cheaper prices too... but my heart really belongs to Good Shepherd :-)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Number ONE on my list would be their oh-so-yummy <b>PEANUT BRITTLE</b>. I just Loooove the sweet and salty goodness of their Peanut Brittle. I have already managed to eat one large plastic jar in one sitting... seriously :-) Good Shepherd's Peanut Brittle may cost more than those being sold for 3-for-100 pesos or 4-for-100 pesos, but once you open the jar, you'll see that your<b> Php 200.00</b>+ pesos is all worth it ;-)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-elY21nwzrAU/Thf5EH6ZQpI/AAAAAAAAAec/02sa66I8krg/s1600/goodshep2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-elY21nwzrAU/Thf5EH6ZQpI/AAAAAAAAAec/02sa66I8krg/s400/goodshep2.JPG" width="257" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">Good Shepherd's Peanut Brittle is generously filled and packed... unlike its cheaper counterparts sold for 25-30 pesos where you only get a hollow container since they only make it look "full" from the outside. With the cheaper peanut brittle, you just get the "outer" peanut brittle shell with the middle/inside portion almost empty. So if you want to bring someone <i>food pasalubong</i> to impress, get your goodies from Good Shepherd and skip the ones sold at super discounted prices. See Good Shepherd's plastic jar... Yum!<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jEeS_ano86g/Thf5HxHWnnI/AAAAAAAAAek/OV4w-NJNk6Y/s1600/goodshep4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jEeS_ano86g/Thf5HxHWnnI/AAAAAAAAAek/OV4w-NJNk6Y/s320/goodshep4.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Favorite item number two would be their gooey and rich <b>UBE JAM</b>. Theirs would be our favorite Ube Jam (Purple Yam Jam) of all time. It has perfect consistency and texture not found in other Ube Jams. Perfectly sweet... makes for a quick and easy dessert after a meal. Just get a clean spoon, scoop out a big dollop of chilled Ube Jam and Eat! Yum! Hahaha :-) <i>Some people say that Tantamco's Ube Jam is at par with Good Shepherd's, but I have yet to try it out. Let's see...</i></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IudvedM6HKY/Thf5B0Y2PDI/AAAAAAAAAeY/Sp9E01W4Aa4/s1600/goodshep1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IudvedM6HKY/Thf5B0Y2PDI/AAAAAAAAAeY/Sp9E01W4Aa4/s400/goodshep1.JPG" width="265" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">And.. Last but not the least... <b>CHOCOLATE CRINKLES</b>! I love the fact that their Chocolate Crinkles are <b>moist, sweet, tasty, chewy, and flat</b>. Yes, I didn't make a typo-error. Their crinkles are indeed FLAT. I like my chocolate crinkles moist and chewy... and most of the time, bakeries make the mistake of baking large and thick chocolate crinkles, resulting in dry, crumbly chocolate crinkles... tsk, tsk. In my opinion, Good Shepherd's Chocolate Crinkles are sized just right making it easy to pop a whole crinkle in your mouth. Yum!<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xJZLG9zOnyE/Thf5GVlb-fI/AAAAAAAAAeg/l31h1z8reA4/s1600/goodshep3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xJZLG9zOnyE/Thf5GVlb-fI/AAAAAAAAAeg/l31h1z8reA4/s400/goodshep3.JPG" width="310" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Try their Strawberry Jam/Preserve too... I'm just not a fan of strawberries, but those who love it say that Good Shepherd's is the best. So the next time go on a trip to the City of Pines, the summer capital of the Philippines... be sure to swing around Good Shepherd's to buy several jars of deliciousness! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

Quezon City<br />
<b>Popular Products:</b><br />
<b>- </b>"Lechon" Bread (roasted-pig-shaped bread)<br />
- Kalihim<br />
- Lakas<br />
- Pianono (sugar coated chiffon roll slice)<br />
- Kababayan (sweet muffin)<br />

<b>Tagalog/Filipino Words: </b><i> </i><br />
<i>" Nakakawili " </i>~ one that pleases or gives pleasure<br />
<i>" Tinapay "</i> ~ bread<br />
<i>" Lechon "</i> ~ whole roasted pig<br />
--------------------------------------------<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">I am just so fond of our local bread sold at old-school bakeries. Buying bread from the <i> " panaderia " </i>(bakery)<i> </i> has always been such a treat for me... looking at the bread through the glass display, and getting to choose your favorites. When I was a kid, your 10.00 pesos could buy you an assortment of bread... from <b>hopia, pan de coco, monay, and my all-time favorite kababayan</b>. Today, my favorites are still there... with a few <u><b>creative addition</b>s</u>... and I have a new favorite bakery too... <b>Kawilihan Bakery! </b>In my opinion, they're <b>one of the best non-commercial bakeries in Metro Manila</b>. The bread products they sell and bake are consistently tasty and baked properly <i>(products intended to be fluffy are fluffy, chewy bread are indeed chewy, and crunchy types are really crunchy)</i><b>.</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Just the other day, we passed by Kawilihan to buy our staples... <b>Kababayan, Lakas, Ensaymada, and Pianono</b>. As we were about to leave, our eldest son asked if he could buy the <b>"PIG" bread</b>. I didn't really know what he was talking about... I immediately thought of Hopiang Baboy... but to my surprise and delight, he was referring to the <b>Lechon-shaped bread!</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Dz0-PgTiJEM/TgPyV4uqiGI/AAAAAAAAAa0/S8l4EamL-gk/s1600/kawilihan1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="210" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Dz0-PgTiJEM/TgPyV4uqiGI/AAAAAAAAAa0/S8l4EamL-gk/s400/kawilihan1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">"Lechon" Bread (Php 40.00)</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"></span></div><a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">I have seen this bread design featured in one of the local TV shows as an alternative to buying the actual Lechon (Whole Roasted Pig) for the Yuletide season. I've always wanted to buy one, but I never really planned on heading to Malabon just to buy it. So, it really was a nice surprise that Kawilihan Bakery was selling it too!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BPMlpRk8OZY/TgP23YiARtI/AAAAAAAAAa8/JdVrZ51SLI4/s1600/kawilihan4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="298" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BPMlpRk8OZY/TgP23YiARtI/AAAAAAAAAa8/JdVrZ51SLI4/s400/kawilihan4.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">This kind of bread-design is pretty nice to serve at parties... instead of the usual sliced bread, if you really must have bread (like most Filipinos do, especially when there's pancit or spaghetti) :-) Makes for a great addition to your table setting and a funny conversation piece too! Don't you just love it? :-) I do :-)</div><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">So the next time you're in the Anonas-Quezon City area, why not pass by Kawilihan bakery and buy your very own Lechon-bread! Great-looking-funny-looking bread... tasty... and goes well with a whole lot of spreads from peanut butter, jam, butter, nutella, cream cheese, liver spread... go crazy! :-) And while you're there, try their yummy old-school bread too!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">I’ve been wanting to have lunch at Pan de Amerikana for the longest time after seeing it featured on a TV show for their whimsy decor. With our boys and our trusty cameras in tow, we finally got around to going there on a Sunday. I honestly didn’t know what to expect in terms of food since my friends spent way too much time taking photographs when they had a meal there. They only got to tell me three things: (1) That it was a great place to take pictures, (2) steaks were priced just below Php 200.00, and (3) that they had a huge chess board. </div><div></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">We asked around the Concepcion, Marikina area for directions to Pan de Amerikana. It was a cinch to follow and the restaurant is quite easy to spot too with a big windmill near the entrance. Lovely, eye-catching façade… me likey!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ceFHOCrvhm8/TgAgkNubrEI/AAAAAAAAAag/8HRV7grGtp8/s1600/pan14.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ceFHOCrvhm8/TgAgkNubrEI/AAAAAAAAAag/8HRV7grGtp8/s400/pan14.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">We got there at around 12:15 pm and saw that the parking area fronting Pan de Amerikana was full. Good thing there was an extremely helpful security guard/parking attendant who directed us across the street to park. Plus points for Mr. Guard for helping us cross the street too!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Pan de Amerikana in Marikina is also surprisingly spacious inside, so don’t let full parking area make you go somewhere else thinking that the place is packed. There are more than enough dining areas and tables for everyone.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Ordering is done at the front counter. It’s the first thing you see when you enter the restaurant. I love that the staff manning their register are all friendly and would gladly give you a description of what their dishes are and how they’re cooked. Very helpful for first-timers like us.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GJwDDPkuRRY/TgAexg9Yl1I/AAAAAAAAAaI/ArCMkN52778/s1600/pan1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GJwDDPkuRRY/TgAexg9Yl1I/AAAAAAAAAaI/ArCMkN52778/s400/pan1.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Another thing to love about Pan de Amerikana is how reasonably-priced everything is on their menu. For a mere <u><b>Php 684.00</b></u>, we were able to order the following items:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Ilokano Igado – Php 60.00</div><div></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Shanghai – Php 35.00</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Pla-pla Bawang – Php 99.00</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Tuna Pandesal – Php 25.00</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Chicken Curry – Php 60.00</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">2 orders of Saba Con Yelo – Php 25.00 each (Php 50.00)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Ginataang Bilo-Bilo – Php 25.00</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">2 Extra Rice – Php 15.00 each (Php 30.00)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">9 fruit shakes – Php 30.00 each (Php 270.00)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">A can of coke zero – Php 30.00</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OMgcblUmC1o/TgAe1G4emKI/AAAAAAAAAaQ/fyx8W7JfZFI/s1600/pan3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OMgcblUmC1o/TgAe1G4emKI/AAAAAAAAAaQ/fyx8W7JfZFI/s400/pan3.JPG" width="266" /></a></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"> <b>Fruit Shakes (Php 30.00 each)</b></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><i>melon, watermelon, mango</i></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
Not bad right?!? I really had to list down the items we ordered so you guys could have an idea of how much we got to order for less than Php 700.00. It is nice that the <b>food they serve are affordable</b> with just the right serving size. It <b>allows diners to try multiple dishes</b> without having to worry about the bill, or perhaps not being able to finish everything.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
Food was yummy. Classic Filipino Fare... Nothing fancy, but had the <b>home-cooked goodness</b> I appreciate. I especially liked the Pla-Pla Bawang. It was flavoured perfectly, garlicky and had the right amount of spiciness. A must-try when you’re there! The chicken-curry was good too, Philippine-style Chicken Curry like how our Lolas or Moms cooked it. The Ilokano Igado was our youngest son’s favourite.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aYMyHyQErXE/TgAuBs4xEsI/AAAAAAAAAaw/TgoKtE8zVuE/s1600/pan8.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aYMyHyQErXE/TgAuBs4xEsI/AAAAAAAAAaw/TgoKtE8zVuE/s400/pan8.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Pla-Pla Bawang</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">There’s also <b>so much eye-candy for everyone inside Pan de Amerikana.</b> They do have a lot of whimsical knick-knacks and décor that you won’t even notice the time it takes for your food to be served. <b>This is a definite plus for families with children</b> as the kids would be too busy and pre-occupied to ask if the food would be served yet, or if you could leave and go somewhere else instead. <b> Perfect for parents like me with children who are easily bored.</b> Hahaha :-) You can even borrow chess pieces to use and play chess on your chess board designed table. If not, try your hand at <b>giant chess</b>! It also makes for a unique date-place for people not wanting to burn a hole in their pocket. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"> </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iZoI04dss9o/TgAe21o4sFI/AAAAAAAAAaU/w0iZe6dvSTE/s1600/pan4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iZoI04dss9o/TgAe21o4sFI/AAAAAAAAAaU/w0iZe6dvSTE/s400/pan4.JPG" width="266" /></a></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"> <i>our boys at the giant chess board area</i></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<br />
</div><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Now, our boys can’t wait to go back to Pan de Amerikana. Our boys look forward to playing there, and my husband and I look forward to trying the other dishes on their menu. Pan de Amerikana is a restaurant that’s pleasantly Pinoy, despite its name. A must-see and must-try place in Marikina. We’ll surely be back this month for yet another tasty photo-lunch-trip!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />

Pasig City, Philippines<br />
------------------------------------<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">I read somewhere that Tiendesitas had a Food Stall selling gigantic portions of Baby Back Ribs so we decided to head here for lunch on a Sunday after mass. We tried looking for Baby Back Ribs in each stall (since I forgot the name), but too bad, we can't seem to find it. We settled on <b>Trickey's</b> instead since they <b>had T-Bone & Prime Rib Steaks.</b> We also wanted a soup dish for sharing so we ordered<b> La Paz Batchoy from Inasal Joe</b>, a few stalls after Trickey's. For drinks,<b> Mango Shakes from Chillers</b>.<br />
<br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-G2CrRby6UiQ/TfsuPqPKoUI/AAAAAAAAAZs/w0EuFIGIdfc/s1600/tiende7.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-G2CrRby6UiQ/TfsuPqPKoUI/AAAAAAAAAZs/w0EuFIGIdfc/s400/tiende7.JPG" width="255" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Trickey's Prime Rib Steak (Php 150.00)</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">The <b>Prime Rib Steak was ok for the price, c'mon now Php 150.00</b>... you can't really demand steak perfection. Flavor was average, but good and but definitely better than Slice N Dice... still can't compare to other similarly priced steaks as we haven't eaten at another cheap steak place recently. I'll post a comparison once we do :-) The meat was not as tender as I would want it, needs a bit of a chew but I don't mind. I would have to say that the <b>gravy was good and went well with the steak.</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><a name='more'></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-O4hcWfcvOKY/TfstcGnHiII/AAAAAAAAAZg/WUI7L2BoDgY/s1600/tiende4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-O4hcWfcvOKY/TfstcGnHiII/AAAAAAAAAZg/WUI7L2BoDgY/s320/tiende4.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Trickey's French Fries (Php 45.00)</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><span style="font-weight: bold;"></span><b>French Fries from Trickey's was surprisingly very good! Cooked with the skin.. gives the french fries an extra snap and crunch when you bite into it.</b> It was flavored nicely too.. had the right amount of salt and spice... yum! The Fries, were, in fact, the best part of our Tiendesitas lunch experience.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WiuMZ3p4vbA/Tfs_QSVYQ5I/AAAAAAAAAZw/iZebOg7-a50/s1600/tiende1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WiuMZ3p4vbA/Tfs_QSVYQ5I/AAAAAAAAAZw/iZebOg7-a50/s320/tiende1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Inasal Joe's La Paz Batchoy</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I can't say the same thing for the La Paz Batchoy. Yeah, the broth had a La Paz Batchoy flavor, however, it was <b>disappointing</b> because I did not find what I usually look for when ordering La Paz Batchoy. <b>The meat pieces were actually tiny meat bits, so tiny you can't even chew on it. </b>The noodles I could actually finish in one big bite if I wanted to. It could've also been better if it had more toppings like chicharon or egg. I can't remember the exact price, but it's somewhere from Php 40.00 - Php 60.00 pesos. <b>Better to order from Ilonggo Grill if you want La Paz Batchoy from a food court stall.</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y0aTHipY2QY/Tfs_SLi1UyI/AAAAAAAAAZ4/pp-WA3zpTl0/s1600/tiende3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y0aTHipY2QY/Tfs_SLi1UyI/AAAAAAAAAZ4/pp-WA3zpTl0/s320/tiende3.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-style: italic;">see the tiny meat bits... </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-style: italic;">soooo tiny it's like you're eating instant La Paz Batchoy</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-style: italic;"></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PSnQAwt5Bq4/Tfs_RSX0cOI/AAAAAAAAAZ0/BJlWV5SUYDg/s1600/tiende2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PSnQAwt5Bq4/Tfs_RSX0cOI/AAAAAAAAAZ0/BJlWV5SUYDg/s400/tiende2.JPG" width="266" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Chillers Mango Shake (Php 50.00)</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">The <b>Mango Shake from Chillers was good as always</b>.<br />
Perfectly sweet and ice was blended perfectly.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Not bad at Php 50.00.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><b><u>MY VERDICT</u></b><b> </b></span></div><div class="region" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><b>What I Liked:</b><br />
> Trickey's French Fries - worth ordering separately1</div><div style="text-align: justify;">> Chillers Shakes - always yummy</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<div class="region" style="text-align: justify;"><b>What I Didn't Like:</b></div><div class="region" style="text-align: justify;">> Inasal Joe's La Paz Batchoy - with teeny tiny bits meat, like instamt cup noodles La Paz Batchoy</div><div class="region" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Will I Go Back?: </b></div><div style="text-align: justify;">><b> </b>For Trickey's.. Yes.. for the fries... for the steak... perhaps, if I can't find a better alternative</div><div style="text-align: justify;">> Chillers Shake - Yes, they have yummy fruit shakes :-)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<b>Do I Recommend These Places?:</b></div>><b> Yes, </b>try the French Fries at Trickey's and the shakes at Chillers</div><div style="text-align: justify;">> Skip Inasal Joe's</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

(and in other Q.C. areas too!)<br />
<b>Price:</b> Php 350.00<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">Whenever I'm too tired or lazy to cook, and waaay too hungry to wait for food delivery... we decide on ordering from any of the Take-Out Food stalls around Q.C. Choices range from Lechon Manok, Liempo, Lechon, Sisig, Pork Barbeque, or Crispy Pata. If I get to pick, and if my husband doesn't try to talk me out of the "cholesterol" bit, I'd always choose CRISPY PATA! I already mentioned <b>I LOVE CRISPY PATA</b> right? Hahaha :-)</div><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">We've already tried ordering from different Crispy Pata take-out stalls, but this was our latest Crispy Pata order since I started publishing my blog entries last month... so <b>Tom's Crispy Pata</b> is now the first Crispy Pata take-out I'll be reviewing :-)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

<div class="region" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="region" style="text-align: justify;"><b>What I Like: </b></div><div class="region" style="text-align: justify;">> Size - The biggest Crispy Pata we've ordered for Take-out so far...good enough for 3 people.. can be shared by 4 max. <i>others are not good enough for 2 people to share... let alone 3. Well, I mean, that's when we're eating.. and if you're starving and not on a diet ok :-)</i></div><div class="region" style="text-align: justify;">> Price - just right for the size. I'd rather pay Php 350.00 for a bigger Crispy Pata like Tom's than having to order 2 small ones at 230 each...</div><div class="region" style="text-align: justify;">> Taste - good, flavorful... even the meat inside is tasty :-)</div><div class="region" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="region" style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="region" style="text-align: justify;"><b>What I Didn't Like:</b></div><div class="region" style="text-align: justify;"><b>Not that I didn't like the Crispy Pata.. I LIKED IT A LOT.. but...</b></div><div class="region" style="text-align: justify;">> The leg part - I believe the Crispy Pata we got was the hind leg... I personally prefer the Front Leg since the meat there is more tender... <i>but then again, we can't just toss all the hind legs right.... hahaha :-) Maybe we should specify the part we want next time.. if it is possible :-)</i></div><br />

City of San Fernando, Pampanga<br />
Philippines<br />
<b>Telephone:</b> (63) - 45 - 8612480 / (63) - 45 - 9639302<br />
---------------------------------------------------------<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">I first tasted the Pancit Palabok from Susie's Cuisine 2 years ago when Wowie bought me a single order as "pasalubong" from his business trip to Pampanga. Since then, I simply had to have it as "pasalubong" together with Tibok-tibok every time he goes to San Fernando or wherever there's a Susie's Cuisine branch.<br />
<br />
The sauce of their Pancit Palabok is just perfect.. <u><b>super flavorful and tasty</b></u>. Goes really well with the <b>thick bihon-like noodles</b>. I like the fact that <b>the sauce is actually absorbed by the noodles</b>, makes each bite really tasty, even without the toppings... unlike other Palabok versions where the sauce is like a separate flavor from the noodles.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<br />
<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LTwWTAA8MS0/Tfgv6CPNmtI/AAAAAAAAAZM/XoE9PgkE3aA/s1600/susies2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="272" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LTwWTAA8MS0/Tfgv6CPNmtI/AAAAAAAAAZM/XoE9PgkE3aA/s400/susies2.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Pancit Palabok (Php 40.00)</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><a name='more'></a><br />
Nothing really fancy about this Pancit Palabok, not overloaded with toppings... it's just that it's cooked and flavored perfectly, makes for the best classic version of Pancit Palabok for me. A bang for your buck too at <b>Php 40.00... really cheap.</b> You can eat the single serving alone for lunch and won't be hungry. The serving size is enough to make your stomach full and your taste buds happy :-) </div><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">Susie's Cuisine also sells other scrumptious delicacies like <b>Tibok-tibok</b> (too bad I scarfed down my Tibok-tibok slices before I remembered to take pictures), <b>ube, mochi</b> (their version of buchi with gata)... <b>all for only Php 20.00 per slice or Php. 400.00 per bilao.</b> I'll make sure I take photos of the other delicious treats next time. :-) Yum!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NJKSLsZI4bk/Tfgv4jH3X-I/AAAAAAAAAZI/8GzAwxpRcwA/s1600/susies1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NJKSLsZI4bk/Tfgv4jH3X-I/AAAAAAAAAZI/8GzAwxpRcwA/s320/susies1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">So the next time you're headed to Pampanga, be sure to stop by Susie's Cuisine and order their delish Pancit Palabok to taste it for yourself :-) Let me know if you liked it as much as I do! :-)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

According to him, he can eat crabs everyday and never get sick of it... haven't tried serving him crabs daily though. Haha :-) When you ask my husband how he wants his crabs for dinner, he'll say he just likes them boiled. It might sound so basic to just drop the crabs in a pot of boiling water and it's done... but <b>I have a few tips you guys (especially those new to cooking) might want to try the next time you cook boiled crabs or make a "Crab Boil" </b><i>as crab fanatics call it.</i> </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NgSkcNhsC0U/Tfcg_rZhG1I/AAAAAAAAAZE/xMOx23yrJrY/s1600/crab.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="315" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NgSkcNhsC0U/Tfcg_rZhG1I/AAAAAAAAAZE/xMOx23yrJrY/s400/crab.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;"><u><b><span style="font-size: small;">YOU'LL NEED</span></b></u></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><ul><li><b>Your choice of crabs</b> (of course!) <i>~ blue crab, red crab, rock crab, dungeness ... you decide</i><br />
<br />
<i></i></li>
<li><b>SPICES/CRAB BOIL MIX:</b><i> </i>- a can of sprite or 7-up, a teaspoon of whole black peppercorns, 2 bay leaves, a teaspoon of allspice, a teaspoon of chili powder (add more if you want a spicier version), a whole garlic (peeled and crushed), 1 teaspoon coriander seed, and rock salt. </li>
</ul><ul><li><b>A pot</b> which can fit all your crabs <i>~ if you're planning to cook a lot of crabs, for a big party perhaps, I suggest doing them in batches unless you have a really ginormous pot</i></li>
<li><b>Water for boiling</b><i> </i></li>
</ul><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><u><b>DIRECTIONS</b></u></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><ol><li>Pour the can of Sprite or 7-Up into the pot and add about a liter of water <i>(or more, depending on the number of crabs you have. 1 liter water is to 1 can of Sprite or 7-Up)</i></li>
<li>Put all the spices in the pot, stir, and bring it to a boil</li>
<li>Put the crabs in the pot of your boiled concoction <i>~ make sure the crabs are completely covered in your crab boil water</i></li>
<li>Continue Boiling the Crab for 20 minutes.</li>
<li>Serve.. and Enjoy! Yum!</li>
</ol> <span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: #ead1dc;"><i><i> </i></i></span></span><br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">Waking up on a Monday morning in Subic, <b>we had breakfast at Aresi since it came with our room reservation at the Court Meridian Hotel.</b> Wowie ordered the <b>Filipino Breakfast of Chicken Pork Adobo, and I had the American Breakfast with Bacon, Eggs, and Fried potatoes.</b> <b>They're known for serving really scrumptious Italian food,</b> so I wasn't really intending to write a review about our simple plated breakfast there. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QnHZFziZikA/TfWhV3FkwfI/AAAAAAAAAY8/mZtILjPXDXg/s1600/aresi1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QnHZFziZikA/TfWhV3FkwfI/AAAAAAAAAY8/mZtILjPXDXg/s400/aresi1.jpg" width="400" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">When our orders came, Ok... the usual. Let's eat. Starving really. When I took a bite of my fried potatoes.. yum! I know it was just simple fried potatoes, but it was cooked and seasoned to perfection! As you can see in the photo, there were only a few pieces on the plate... <b>but it was so delicious</b> promise! Hehehe... so much fuss over fried potatoes. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">The eggs were also cooked properly... yum... bacon... it would've been nice if I had more, but the serving size was in fact, just right. Even the fried tomato was good. Weird of me, but I found it really good. I've had way too many plated breakfasts, none memorable or worth writing a review on, same old, same old. I know it looks ordinary but in terms of flavor, <b>this one definitely stands out</b> :-)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0xw8XGqh0Ek/TfWhWiLgrII/AAAAAAAAAZA/00JI-8hxG1w/s1600/aresi2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0xw8XGqh0Ek/TfWhWiLgrII/AAAAAAAAAZA/00JI-8hxG1w/s400/aresi2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I took a bite of Wowie's Chicken Pork Adobo... Yum-O as well! I know the chef or cook whips up way fancier dishes for the restaurant, but I'm happy that they can get the basics spot-on :-) Chicken Pork Adobo and Fried Potatoes are just so commonplace that it is overlooked most of the time and not given that much attention. <b>I salute Aresi for being a restaurant that serves yummy basic meals from breakfast to dinner, to late night chows!</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

Since the place was known to cook a mean fried chicken, we decided to order a <b>2-piece snack meal at Php 105.00 and a 3-piece lunch meal at Php 135.00 served with rice and gravy.</b><i> </i>It was supposed to be their specialty, and being a fan of fried chicken, I was really excited to try it (again). I also ordered their <b>Mongolian Barbeque<span style="color: white;"> ala</span></b><span style="color: white;"><b> AFC</b> descibed in thir menu as "their delectable version, you wouldn't want to try another."</span></div><div style="color: white; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: white; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="font-weight: normal;">Before I start ranting about the food... let me just let you guys know that the <u><b>service here is waaaay sloooooow.</b></u> That day I remembered that their extremely slow service was also our problem the last time. Still the same slow service, after 3 years.. sheesh. </u></b></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Others make their Turon by sprinkling them with sugar while frying, and some like having their Turon wrapped in Jackfruit... my recipe on the other hand is just pretty simple and basic... <b>makes for a really yummy treat, and can even be served as finger-food dessert that your guests will surely enjoy at your next party!</b><br />

<span style="font-size: small;"><u><b>DIRECTIONS</b></u></span><br />
<br />
<ol style="margin-top: 0in;" type="1"><li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Slice saba or bananas in half (lengthwise). <i>If you're using long regular bananas, you may want to slice your bananas in half (again) to make them just around 3-4 inches in length (the same size as a Saba banana)</i></li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Lay out a single lumpia wrapper (spring roll wrapper) on a big round plate.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Place a slice of Saba/Banana on the middle of the lumpia wrapper</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Scoop a tablespoon full of white or brown sugar evenly on top of the Saba/Banana slice</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Fold the lumpia wrapper and wrap the banana securely as you would when making a spring roll. ~ take the bottom part of the wrapper, the side nearest to you, and fold upwards covering the Banana, then fold the sides towards the middle, and roll the banana with the wrapper away from you. </li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Dip your fingers into a small bowl of water and use your fingers to smoothen on the edge of the wrapper to seal the Turon.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Repeat procedure until you have the number of Turon you want</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Heat enough oil in a frying pan <i>~ enough to cover the turon... you may use less oil if you want, but you'd have to turn your Turon while cooking to cook both sides.</i></li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Gently put each Turon in the hot oil</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Cook until golden brown and crispy</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Place in a strainer or some tissue paper before serving to remove excess oil</li>

<div style="text-align: justify;">The first time I ate at Agave Mexican Cantina was at their branch in Bonifacio High Street (but just for their Nachos and Bottomless Margarita). I was there on a nightcap with a girl friend after a wedding so I really didn't get the chance to try their other dishes... but I did get a good look at their menu. Since then I've been wanting to have dinner with Wowie there as <b>they had a lot of yummy choices I was extremely interested in.</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
I was both happy and excited to know that we wouldn't have to go all the way to Makati to have a taste of their yummy-looking dishes since <b>they also had branches in Eastwood Libis and Tomas Morato</b>. We finally got around to going on a movie-dinner-date at their Eastwood spot.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"> </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"> </span>I already knew I was having their <u><b>Bottomless House Margaritas... a bang for your buck at Php 295.00</b></u> especially if you can drink more than 2 glasses like me (since a glass costs Php 175.00)... <b>Score!!!</b> I love their bottomless margaritas... just the right mix in my opinion. You can also to choose to have your bottomless margaritas in a flavor-of-the-day like strawberry at Php 395.00. </div><a name='more'></a><br />
We decided to order their <i>Agave Baby Back Ribs - Half Slab</i>... Awww... <i>we were disappointed</i>... <u><b>'coz we should've ordered a FULL SLAB!</b></u> Their <b>Baby Back Ribs were so delectable!</b> It went well with the <b>Mexican Red Rice</b> which came with the dish. Yum-O! At first I didn't want to force Wowie to order a full slab for us to share, afraid it might not be delicious. Well, there's always a next time right? And NEXT TIME... we'll surely order a <b>Full Slab of Agave Baby Back Ribs (Php 825.00)</b>!<br />

</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">We wanted to try a lot of dishes since their <b>menu is quite extensive... another plus point for Agave.</b> I just love their menu choices... unlike most of the Mexican restaurants in town just serve burritos, tacos, nachos, and enchiladas. Too bad we had a little too much to eat during the movie that we couldn't possible handle more food. <br />
<br />
We settled on ordering the<b> Camaron al Diabla and a Grande-sized Steak Burrito</b> to share. Both were really delicious! I must remember to go here hungry next time so I can order more of their tasty Mexican fare!<br />

-------------------<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">Ooooohhh... I've been waiting for this to be re-launched since last year's successful Chicken-All-You-Can Promo! Max's fans, myself included, have long been hoping to avail of this sweet deal again. Max's listened... and here we are again, looking forward to June 10, 2011 for another chance to eat as much of<b> Max's scrumptious fried chicken as possible for just Php 199.00!</b></div><b></b><br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">This year, Max's spiced up their Chicken-All-You-Can by including a drink... not bad for Php 199.00 (from last year's Php 165.00 promo price)... Besides, I personally like having my Chicken with soft drinks to "enhance" my eating capability. Hahaha :-) </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">During last year's promo, my husband and I were only able to finish 4-pieces each with 1 cup of garlic rice. Actually, we were both already quite full with out 3rd piece, but since we wanted to push our limits, we asked for our fourth and last piece. *Burrrrp!* <i>I just can't imagine how one of our friends was able to fnish 12 pieces of fried chicken and 4 orders of rice... and how one of Max's diners managed to scarf down 16 pieces!</i> Whoa! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-e-kTRTXFI-I/Te6_zyn8x6I/AAAAAAAAAXw/5Hm9NVewWnw/s1600/maxs2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-e-kTRTXFI-I/Te6_zyn8x6I/AAAAAAAAAXw/5Hm9NVewWnw/s320/maxs2.jpg" width="212" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I wonder how many pieces of Max's fried chicken I'd be able to eat this time... 4... 5...? We'll see! <b><u>I'll be blogging about it soon!</u></b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Good thing the promo will last for one month... all along I thought it would be a 1-day only event.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">So for all the Max's fans out there... let's all head to Max's restaurant again for their <b>super scrumptious</b> promo!<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I tried looking for other reviews on this restaurant online, but I'm afraid there aren't that much, let alone 1 or 2 entries which are 3-4 pages into the search results page. Too bad as Red Palace Seafood Restaurant offers really yummy Chinese food. I believe it's about time that I post an entry about the delicious food here.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">Red Palace Seafood Restaurant is along Malakas Street in Diliman Quezon City, beside Pancake House and Muang Thai across Fersal Inn. Lucky we discovered this place since we used to live in the area. </div><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">As soon as you get to order, <b>you'll immediately be served with complimentary hot tea in a nice little ceramic pot</b>... plus points for Red Palace! Their <b>waiters/servers are also very accommodating</b>, and will be glad to refill your pot of tea as often as you wish.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Our favorite dishes to order are all in this entry... <b>Yang Chow Fried Rice, Hakaw (steamed shrimp dumplings), Lechon Macau, and Beef with Oyster Sauce</b>. The flavor of their dishes are consistently delicious. <b>Their Yang Chow Fried Rice is also on my Top 3 Yang Chow list.</b> </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ue4hFEVwcYk/Te38Z4GffBI/AAAAAAAAAW8/GdNM_7j7ZYs/s1600/redpalace1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br />

<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Their Hakaw (or steamed shrimp dumplings) are good too (not the best, but good)... they're sized just right and doesn't have a thick pastry wrapper that some Chinese restaurants have which mask the flavor of the shrimp. The <b>Lechon Macau is also a must-try-must-order here... perfectly seasoned, deep fried porky goodness. Goes well with the Yang Chow Fried Rice</b>. Yum!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">Wowie introduced me to Mongolian Eat-All-You-Can Bowls back when we were still dating... and I can't seem to get enough of it. To this day, I continuously scour a town or place for a restaurant offering Mongolian Buffet... Whether we're at Boracay, Subic, or just about anywhere... I always have to get my fill of Mongolian Rice Bowls.</div><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Nhuwhx1VG5c/TexEh6ssP8I/AAAAAAAAAWg/m-FG0Jcf66E/s1600/omaikhan2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="280" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Nhuwhx1VG5c/TexEh6ssP8I/AAAAAAAAAWg/m-FG0Jcf66E/s400/omaikhan2.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">That's why <b>I was extremely pleased that the "summer capital" of the Philippines had one... O' Mai Khan! </b>After doing a bit of research online, and having <b>read several good reviews about the place</b>, I definitely had to give it a try.</div><br />
<a name='more'></a>We arrived just in time for dinner, <b>the staff were accommodating and very nice to our boys</b>. Of course, I'd be having their Eat-All-You-Can Mongolian Bowl... no question about that! Haha! :-) After checking the menu, I was also happy to see that<b> there were items that are kid-friendly</b>... as well as other dishes for those who want to order something other than their Mongolian Bowl.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SK1HHiL6HS0/TexHkEGcopI/AAAAAAAAAWo/SDrXuDm9WME/s1600/omaikhan3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="280" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SK1HHiL6HS0/TexHkEGcopI/AAAAAAAAAWo/SDrXuDm9WME/s400/omaikhan3.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Their pasta dishes are surprisingly delicious too!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">As for their Mongolian Buffet... Mmmm! It was good... of course, the seasoning and combining of the ingredients was all ME... but I could say that <b>their spread and choices of Sauces, Meat, Chicken, Seafood, and Fresh Vegetables was perfect and makes for a yummy Mongolian rice bowl. :-)</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

So browsing the internet in search of a new place to satisfy my Crispy Pata craving, we decided to try Bagoong Club in Quezon City. Since they serve crispy pata AND is known to have great tasting bagoong rice... sounds like a winner in my book! <i>Hello cholesterol and high-blood!</i> Hahaha :-)</div><div class="country-name"><br />
</div><div class="country-name"><br />

</div><div class="country-name" style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="country-name" style="text-align: justify;">I know it might seem totally silly of me to order the usual Crispy Pata and Kare-Kare in a restaurant offering a wide array of Filipino Food and bagoong-infused dishes... but hey, you can't blame me... don't worry, we'll make sure we try the other specialties next time.</div><div class="country-name" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="country-name" style="text-align: justify;">On to the Crispy Pata... <i>or Crispy Pork Leg (and knuckles) in English</i></div><div class="country-name" style="text-align: justify;"></div><a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<u><b>The Crispy Pata was served together with the Bagoong Rice and Kare-Kare... so plus points for serving the main dishes together. </b></u>I just hate it when restaurants serve the rice or main dish first and take too long to serve the other dishes. Bagoong Club served their crispy pata chopped, with the knuckles... good, good. <b>Overall, I would say their crispy pata was delicious</b>... it had the chewy gelatinous parts I look for, meat was flavorful, and the skin was indeed crispy :-) </div><br />
<div class="country-name" style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="country-name" style="text-align: justify;"><i></i></div><div class="country-name" style="text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div class="country-name" style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="country-name" style="text-align: center;">The Bagoong Rice was tasty and went well with the Crispy Pata. We took a photo of the Kare-Kare as soon it was served, and I swear we didn't stir or touch it. All you can see is the sauce and a bobbing piece of meat. It seems like the dish is just full of sauce, but there are vegetables and more meat pieces, you just can't see them. Like I said, it is an "OK" place... but not exactly our favorite, definitely not the best (in our opinion)... and if I may say, I find it quite overrated. So my apologies to all their fans. I'm just giving my truthful opinion.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><b>My husband and I prefer going to <u>House of Minis</u>. Not only are their steaks more tender, juicier, and tastier... they're also priced cheaper for an average quality/class of steak. </b><i>See, Php 595.00 for a Tenderloin Steak Meal at Alfredo's, and just Php 330.00 for a Tenderloin Steak Meal with dessert at the House of Minis.</i><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">We're actually willing to shell-out more for a great tasting steak, and paying Php 990.00 for a Tenderloin & Ribs Duo Meal was not bad and seemed like a good deal for Tenderloin AND Ribs... <i>considering the fact that there are several steakhouses charging as much as Php 5000.00 for a fine steak meal...</i> it's just that we didn't really find it delicious. Really, <u><b>we found it just average.</b></u><br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;">We've had several meals at Alfredo's already, but the last time we ate here (May 2011) the Tenderloin Steak we ordered was terribly dry and bland. The Ribs, well, Wowie was never really a fan of it since he likes his Ribs plain and not smothered with sauce. We just order the Steak Duo with Ribs since it seemed like a better deal. That's when we figured that we were just going there because of the proximity to our place... and not really because the steaks were great-tasting. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<b>For now, we finally decided to just head to the House of Minis (in Pasig) whenever we want an easy choice for a simple yet yummy piece of steak</b>. We should probably try the more expensive specialty steakhouses if we really want a scrumptious steak. Perhaps on our next special occasion, why not :-)<br />
<br />
Well, it'll probably be a long time before we go back to Alfredo's again for their steaks. Unless somebody treats us to a meal there, or we get an awesome deal on those popular new deal-sites, maybe then, we'll give it another try :-)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

<b><u>MY VERDICT</u></b><b> </b></div><div class="region" style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="region" style="text-align: justify;"><b>What I Liked: </b></div>> The ambiance - nice, cozy.. makes for a good place to bring your date :-) <br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<b>Will I Go Back?: </b></div><div style="text-align: justify;">><b> </b>No, not in the future. Again, this is just me... I know a lot of people go back here every weekend for their Steak fix.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<b>Do I Recommend This Place?:</b></div>><b> Sure, </b>like what I said above, this is a nice place to bring your date for a steak dinner in the Quezon City area.<br />
