We decided to try having dinner at Finio one night when we were supposed to eat at Yakimix, Tomas Morato (but the place was packed as always)... and I suddenly remembered that there was this restaurant nearby serving Boneless Crispy Pata.

Excited, we ordered their Boneless Crispy Pata, Gambas Finio, Pork Bbq Batchoy, Bagoong Rice, and Banana Fritters (Php 58.00) and Leche Flan (Php 58.00) for dessert. Unfortunately, I, again, forgot to bring a camera. All the photos here are all from my trusty iPhone.

Boneless Crispy Pata and Bagoong Rice
(Php 438.00 and Php 50.00/cup)

What I like about Finio's Boneless Crispy Pata was the fact that they still served the part with the knuckles. Other Boneless Crispy Patas are served totally boneless so I miss the chewy, gelatinous parts in the knuckles, which is actually my favorite part of the pata. Flavor was fairly good. However, one thing I noticed was the fact that it wasn't served hot. Like it wasn't served as soon as it was cooked.

The Bagoong Rice was disappointing since I didn't really taste the Bagoong flavor. It was as if I just ordered fried rice.

Gambas Finio (Php 198.00) and Batchoy (Php 98.00)

I would have to say that the Gambas Finio was delicious, the sauce was tasty and had just the right spiciness to it. However, the Batchoy was disappointing. It didn't really have the Batchoy taste we were looking for. It lacked several key ingredients like Chicharon, Liver, and Egg. It certainly did not look like the Batchoy photo featured on their website.

Our youngest son had the 2pc Pork Bbq served with Java Rice (Php 148.00). I liked it. It was really flavorful, but my son didn't like it as much as I did 'coz it had huge bits of black pepper.

Overall... here's...

MY VERDICT

What I Liked:
> Food
- Boneless Crispy Pata - I liked the presentation of the Pata itself and the fact that the knuckles were still there.
- Gambas - flavorful
> Price - reasonable
> Bottomless Iced Tea - Not bad at Php 75.00 since they had different flavors to choose from like Dalandan, Four Seasons, Raspberry, and Lemon

What I Didn't Like:
> Bagoong Rice - Where did the Bagoong go?
> Batchoy - ummm... instant?

Will I Go Back?:
> Sure, why not. A place with reasonably priced food and at least average to ok Crispy Pata is always good for me. Haha :-)

Do I Recommend This Place?:
> Sure. This place is alright for people looking for a new place to try for Filipino food.
