Tenderloin and Ribs Mashed Potato Steak Duo

 

Alfredo's Steaks in Tomas Morato is an OK place to satisfy your steak cravings. Like I said, it is an "OK" place... but not exactly our favorite, definitely not the best (in our opinion)... and if I may say, I find it quite overrated. So my apologies to all their fans. I'm just giving my truthful opinion.

My husband and I prefer going to House of Minis. Not only are their steaks more tender, juicier, and tastier... they're also priced cheaper for an average quality/class of steak. See, Php 595.00 for a  Tenderloin Steak Meal at Alfredo's, and just Php 330.00 for a Tenderloin Steak Meal with dessert at the House of Minis.

We're actually willing to shell-out more for a great tasting steak, and paying Php 990.00 for a Tenderloin & Ribs Duo Meal was not bad and seemed like a good deal for Tenderloin AND Ribs... considering the fact that there are several steakhouses charging as much as Php 5000.00 for a fine steak meal...  it's just that we didn't really find it delicious. Really, we found it just average.

All Steak Duos come with Corn on the Cob and Buttered Vegetables, with a choice of Rice Pilaf, Pasta Al Burro, Mashed Potato, Potato Wedges

We've had several meals at Alfredo's already, but the last time we ate here (May 2011) the Tenderloin Steak we ordered was terribly dry and bland. The Ribs, well, Wowie was never really a fan of it since he likes his Ribs plain and not smothered with sauce. We just order the Steak Duo with Ribs since it seemed like a better deal. That's when we figured that we were just going there because of the proximity to our place... and not really because the steaks were great-tasting. 

For now, we finally decided to just head to the House of Minis (in Pasig) whenever we want an easy choice for a simple yet yummy piece of steak. We should probably try the more expensive specialty steakhouses if we really want a scrumptious steak. Perhaps on our next special occasion, why not :-)

Well, it'll probably be a long time before we go back to Alfredo's again for their steaks. Unless somebody treats us to a meal there, or we get an awesome deal on those popular new deal-sites, maybe then, we'll give it another try :-)

MY VERDICT 

What I Liked:

>  The ambiance - nice, cozy.. makes for a good place to bring your date :-)

Will I Go Back?:

> No, not in the future. Again, this is just me... I know a lot of people go back here every weekend for their Steak fix.

Do I Recommend This Place?:

> Sure, like what I said above, this is a nice place to bring your date for a steak dinner in the Quezon City area.
